Description
Welcome to Volterra, a spectacular Italian villa overlooking the Tuscan countryside. Volterra is a modern, sophisticated, air-conditioned Villa that proudly stands on a hillside, commanding 360-degree views from the pool, terraces, and house.
Natural stone exteriors and large, glazed walls draw in the beauty of the surrounding area, ensuring the elegant interiors remain light and airy. The Villa has three spacious bedrooms, providing comfort and luxury for up to six lucky guests. The architecturally refined property is cleverly built over two levels, creating space and unique perspectives from each room.
The rich countryside and distant sea colors include greens, blues, and earthy tones that appear throughout the Villa - effortlessly uniting the internal and external spaces. Originally, the property was an ancient rural dwelling, but through the distinctive vision of the architectural firm Studio Milani, this modern Villa has retained important links with its past while stepping into the 21st century.
The living spaces, the interconnecting rooms that link the three distinct structures, are a masterclass in natural finishes. Sleek floors, vaulted walls, and huge windows blend seamlessly with the exterior terraces, slabbed in refined stone tiles, providing a clear boundary for the pool and garden areas.
All this neat, structured perfection offers the ideal counterpoint to the lavish scenery. Soft rolling Tuscan hills, olive groves, cypresses, hilltop villages, and the distant sea flow like a woven tapestry around this gorgeous Villa.
The fenced gardens cover a space of 8,000 square meters. A selection of aromatic ornamental plants provides a beautiful feature, as does the large infinity pool that can be heated on request. Separately there is a heated hot tub where relaxation after a long day of vacationing can be memorable.
The structure of Volterra has created lovely spaces for outdoor living. The dramatic and ever-changing views enhance an outdoor dining space, relaxed, shaded seating, lounging by the pool, or unwinding in the jacuzzi. With a 360-degree view, you get to enjoy dawn to sunset each day. Bliss!
The fully-equipped kitchen features electric ovens, induction hobs, a double fridge, a dishwasher, and other modern amenities. There is a lovely breakfast bar, perfect for quick and easy snacking. The formal indoor dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and is a lovely space for a celebratory dinner.
The barbecue on the terrace is a great place to cook outdoors, with some of the delicious ingredients you can source locally. You and your guests can eat and chat in the outdoor dining area, sipping wine and watching the horizon change from rich blue/greens to sapphire.
At night, Volterra comes alive in a new way. The surrounding hills slip into dusk as golden lights dot the horizon. The discreet villa lighting illuminates the gardens sufficiently for guests to move about but without distracting from the warm, stillness of the Tuscan night. Heaven!

Welcome to Volterra, located in unequaled Tuscany. This region of Italy is famous for wine, food, ancient hillside communities, history, and so much more. As a guest at this beautiful rural retreat, you will find you are within a manageable distance of some of the treasures of this ancient land. San Gimignano is only 18km (about 10 miles) away. Siena is only 53km (35 miles). The wonderful Florence, Pisa, and Lucca are all within 80km (about 50 miles).
Each day can be filled with adventure or leisure. A trip to the coast for sea swimming, dining on the most delicious foods, and wine tasting are all waiting for you.
