COMO Parrot Cay Resort

COMO Parrot Cay Resort is a paradise privately owned island just 35 minutes by boat from Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos. COMO Parrot Cay comprises of 1,000 stunning acres which include pristine white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and some of the most luxurious Turks and Caicos villas. Here you will be able to experience first-hand the rhythms of the natural world with no cars, pollution or streetlights.

COMO Parrot Cay’s location in the archipelago also makes it well placed to explore the Turks and Caicos Islands in their entirety, while its safe, private locale makes COMO Parrot Cay very appealing to all types of holidays. Parrot Cay island is the last of the five islands that lie between Providenciales in the east and North Caicos. Indeed parts of North Caicos can be seen from COMO Parrot Cay.

Many visitors to Parrot Cay come for pure relaxation but for those looking for a more active holiday; the resort offers an abundance of activities for guests to enjoy.

You can enjoy a game of tennis, take part in Yoga, Pilates or spend some spiritual time at the world famous COMO Shambhala Retreat. Other leisure activities available include; a fitness centre, non-motorized water sports, snorkelling & guided snorkel tours, sun floats, sunfish sailboats & sail boarding, catamarans, deep-sea fishing, resort boutique and scuba diving.


Guests of COMO Parrot Cay are taken directly from Providenciales airport to COMO Parrot Cay by boat. This involves a short 15-minute drive from Providenciales airport to Leeward Marina followed by a relaxing 35-minute boat transfer to the island.

A transfer fee of US$198 + tax per person per stay applies. The fee covers land & boat return transfers. Those arriving by private aircraft need to arrange a private boat transfer through the resort; the transfer is chargeable at a fee confirmed at the time of booking.

COMO Parrot Cay scheduled boat transfers will be depending on arrivals and departures.


COMO Parrot Cay’s complimentary non-motorised water sports include catamaran sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, snorkelling and paddle boarding on the wetlands. Concierge and activities staff can design a personalised programme based on individual requirements. Private tuition can also be arranged and is chargeable, along with any extras such as additional equipment hire.


COMO Parrot Cay is ideally situated to explore the other islands, with Providenciales, the most developed of the chain, a short 35-minute boat trip from the resort. Private boat charters make a particularly easy and relaxing way to explore the area and there are various sizes and styles of vessel available for hire (from 23ft to 30ft) accommodating between two to eight people. Both half and full day charters are the most popular.


There is a range of catamarans available for guests at COMO Parrot Cay. The Recreation Team offer complimentary instruction, so even the most novice of sailors may enjoy these craft while staying on the island. For more experienced sailors, there is the opportunity to hire a Hobie Cat and take a two-hour excursion from COMO Parrot Cay to a deserted beach.

The Turks and Caicos provide excellent conditions for windsurfing. Equipment as well as one-to-one instruction is available at COMO Parrot Cay, which includes private tuition on dry land to learn the basics.


Kayaking is a popular activity among these islands, with some excellent opportunities in the mangroves flanking Parrot Cay island. These shallow waters are the ideal place to see the shoreline and witness the delicate eco-system at work. Baby turtles are known to use the waters as a nursery, as do a host of other marine creatures. Guides can be provided by the resort, and kayaking equipment is complimentary.

Paddle boarding on COMO Parrot Cay takes place at the main beach. Paddle boarding among the bird-rich wetlands on the island’s north coast is on request only. Equipment is complimentary.

This stand-up experience is a relatively new and excellent way to get an in-depth look at the clear water without disturbing the marine life. The calm waters mean this sport is relatively easy, but provides a great core workout too.


Tubing is an exhilarating activity, bouncing over the water on a rubber disk. Children over 14 years of age enjoy this sport. Private Charters are available to the guest who desires the intimacy and freedom of hiring their own vessel. Several size/style boats are available that can comfortably accommodate between 6-15 people.

A wide range of activities including snorkelling, private island drop-offs, beach picnics and more are on offer. There is plenty to see in the clear, shallow reefs of the Turks and Caicos—and without the need to SCUBA dive. Children will also enjoy snorkelling, with complimentary gear provided to guests of Parrot Cay with some interesting sites nearby.


These protected waters at Fort George Cay (Sand dollar Island) offer the perfect environment for easy snorkelling and are ideal for beginners.


This adventure combines three Turks and Caicos highlights: beach combing, wildlife watching and snorkelling. It is important to remember that corals are delicate and can be killed by touching or standing on them. The Turks and Caicos government therefore ask that nothing is removed from the water and nothing left behind.


Diving in the Turks and Caicos is rated amongst the top 10 destinations in the world, with waters that challenge the experienced while also being safe enough for novices. And with the water temperature never falling below 74°F, the sea is always pleasant and welcoming.

Numerous dive outfits exist across the islands, professional dive session can be organized by COMO Parrot Cay concierge. The offices are based at Leeward Marina, a 35-minute complimentary boat ride from COMO Parrot Cay where a member from the dive shop will meet guests at the Leeward Welcome Centre and make arrangements for their day.

All levels of competence can be catered for with ease, including absolute beginners seeking their first PADI certification. Diving is an extra cost and payable locally.

As part of the general preservation and protection measures here, divers visiting the Turks and Caicos are encouraged to observe, respect and enjoy the pristine natural beauty of the marine environment, whilst leaving the reef as healthy as they found it.

There are no fewer than nine separate massage techniques available, from pre-natal through to hot river stone massage. A menu of 10 facials means that there is something for all requirements. Full body care includes cleansing baths that exfoliate and soften skin.

Acupuncture and shiatsu are also available. Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage that involves powerful stimulation of the body’s pressure points to both invigorate and relax.


Yoga is a popular activity on these islands, and is enjoyed in some of the most peaceful natural surroundings imaginable. At COMO Parrot Cay, group scheduled complimentary classes may take place on the beach, or in the pavilion overlooking the island’s wetlands.

For those guests who require a more tailored service, private tuition is available on a one-to one-basis with the resort’s instructors recognised as being among the best in the world (this includes teachers from all over the world who regularly lead week-long retreats).

All levels are catered for, from complete beginners to those more experienced practitioners who are looking to use their time at COMO Parrot Cay to improve and move forward.


At COMO Parrot Cay, Pilate’s group scheduled classes are also offered on a complimentary basis. The practice emphasises the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. Continued practice can change the body’s alignment habits and dramatically improve posture.

Private instruction is available using specialist equipment to enhance a guest’s existing practise or to introduce them to the method for the first time.


Pranayama meditation is offered to guests of COMO Parrot Cay in private guided sessions at the resort’s COMO Shambhala Retreat. The discipline uses awareness of the breath as preparation for deep meditation, breath being the bridge between the body and mind. The principle is this: regulate the breath and the mind and body will follow.

Many guests chose to run at COMO Parrot Cay using jogging routes that traverse the 1000-acre private island. The resort also boasts a fully air-conditioned indoor gym. It contains cardiovascular and anaerobic equipment, free weights and benches. Private training sessions are available.


At COMO Parrot Cay, there are two Omni surface tennis courts available to guests on a complimentary basis. The resort offers equipment including night play. Reservations of courts are required. The Playmate Ace is the perfect companion for a beginner trying to improve their skills or for an advanced player looking for a good workout.


Not surprisingly, fishing is a very popular pastime on the islands, with locals highly skilled in how and where to get the best catch. Bottom reef fishing is likely to produce plenty of bites and a large haul.

Guides will choose the best area, dependent on wind and tidal conditions, combined with their specialist knowledge of fish migration while providing the right fishing gear.

Fishing trips booked through COMO Parrot Cay include soft drinks and mineral water. A fishing license is obligatory and can be obtained via the outfitter.
