Why Visit the bahamas?

Having the world's third-longest barrier reef, the Bahamas is one of the best diving destinations in the Caribbean. The exquisite waters will entice you to explore the outstanding beaches and exotic islands which are scattered in this Caribbean haven.

Visitors to The Bahamas are always charmed by the beauty of the islands.  Featuring hundreds of miles of pristine beaches, deserted coves, uninhabited cays, each of the 700 islands is a unique work of art by mother nature.

Regardless of which of The Bahamas vacation rentals you occupy, the wide blue sea is a key feature to daily life and leisure.  Turquoise, sparkling and most desirable of all, shallow along the coastline, it’s no wonder the Spanish named the islands Baja Mar, literally meaning shallow water or low tide.  This moniker has evolved into this country’s name today, Bahamas.

Palm Cay Bahamas

While staying in our luxury vacation rentals in the Bahamas you can discover the underwater caves, amazing snorkeling, world-class diving, sailing and most importantly the swimming pigs!

Bahamas Weather

The Bahamian tropical weather delivers a winterless climate with mild year-round temperatures offering a wonderful Caribbean destination for you to visit anytime of the year.

How to get to the Bahamas

Access to the Bahamas has never been easier with daily flights from many parts of the US, Canada and Europe. Getting to the Bahamas is easy.

Some of our guests like to combine two Caribbean Destinations during their vacation - many guests like to visit other islands such as the TCI’s where they can stay in one of our Turks and Caicos Villas and then take a flight to Nassau to enjoy a second week in the Bahamas.

Bahamas Location

Each of the islands has a very manageable footprint – ensuring a wonderful sense of self-containment.  For example, the largest of the cays, Great Exuma, is only 37 miles long, while the jewel-like Harbour Island is less than four miles long.

When you are choosing one of the fabulous Bahamas villas, you soon understand the value of these compact islands, namely, beachfront access, unimpeded views and close proximity to restaurants and bars.

Another key bonus from a location point of view is where the huge sweep of The Bahamas archipelago is found on the map.  Very slightly southeast of continental USA – off the Florida coast, east of Cuba and north of Turks and Caicos, any of the diverse and divine villas in the Bahamas are within easy reach.

Dropping into the capital Nassau on a direct flight from the USA or UK, you can move by boat or smaller plane to some of the outer islands.  Once you are safely ensconced in one of the beautiful villas in the Bahamas, a unique vacation built to your tastes can effortlessly unfold.

Bahamas Islands

The most popular Islands in the Bahamas include Nassau and Paradise Island, Andros, The Exumas, Eleuthera, The Berry Islands and The Abacos.

Bahamas Islands

We also offer a nice selection of Resorts in the Bahamas which are the ideal place to stay when you have a family and would like to have a large selection of activities on-site.

Some of the most popular resorts are Grand Isle Resort in the Exumas, Schooner Bay in Abaco and The Atlantis Hotel in Paradise Island, Nassau. We feature a hand-picked selection of private islands in the Bahamas including Little Whale Cay.

Harbour Island

If you are looking for something rather special, then one of the Harbour Island vacation rentals might be just what your heart desires.  Windwhistle is a brand new five-bedroomed property that is located directly on the pink beach of Harbour Island.

The architectural splendour of the property harks to a classical Caribbean style overlaid with Georgian elements.  Yet behind this rather elegant and stately exterior is a contemporary property, full of all the modern touches that will ensure a splendidly luxurious getaway.

And another magical feature of Windwhistle, one of Harbour Island Bahamas vacation rentals of note, is the private jetty.  If you want to build some on-water fun into your vacation, you have the perfect pick up / drop off point on your doorstep.

At only 20 minutes by air from Nassau, Harbour Island is one of those exclusive and fully loaded destinations where wonderful shopping, restaurants and bars, as well as all key holiday amenities are fitted into this small but perfect island.

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and is on New Providence Island.  Nassau, the bright and bustling cruise port, is renowned for its casinos,Junkanoo festival and designer retailers offering duty-free shopping.

We have a wonderful selection of Nassau villas for you to choose from. One of the most popular locations in Nassau is Ocean Club Estates. Here our guests can enjoy a private gated community with complimentary access to The One and Only Ocean Club, use of the on-site tennis courts as well as the Water Park at the Atlantis hotel which the kids will just love.

Some of The Bahamas most beautiful properties are within an easy distance of the capital town of the island chain.  One of the notable villas in Nassau, Bahamas is Notos Cove.

This five-bedroomed property located at Old Fort Point, Nassau, is located within a private gated complex that it shares with two other properties.  Wide terraces, private pool with direct access to a private beach are some of the keynotes of this contemporary property.

For a multi-generation family travelling together, the layout of this, the most exemplary of the Nassau villas, is pretty ideal.  The house is fully loaded with all of the luxurious touches you would expect from a villa of this standard.  As well, you have the use of snorkels, kayaks and other water toys that will allow you to explore the shallow and calm waters that unfold a few steps from your terrace.

Nassau is a town with so much to offer.  Any vacation to New Providence island isn’t complete without a walking tour of Nassau.  Duty-Free shopping, history, delicious dining, and so much more.  Throw in some golf and water sports, and you get some idea of why Nassau is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations all year round.

This magical island is over 100 miles long yet only a mile wide.  This narrow strip of paradise is home to some incredible beaches with beautifully appointed private villas sitting in splendour on them.

One such property is Ananda.  This modern property is made up of three buildings.  A main house and two pavilions.  Surrounded by lush greenery with a private pool, this is a unique property designed around clean lines.

Dark wood features offset white walls and marble interiors.  This is a property that works really well for couples travelling together, giving an element of privacy yet being within near proximity of one another.  You will begin and end each day with the gentle sound of the sea unfolding against a pink sandy beach.

The nearby George Harbour – the main Town of Eleuthera – is a joy to explore.  Century-old buildings frame the port with cute restaurants, bars and shops to tempt the visitor.

With direct flights from Continental USA or a short connection from Nassau, Eleuthera is really worth exploring.

Great Exuma

This is one of The Bahama’s most beloved islands.  And sitting on Emerald  Bay, one of the most stunning beaches of Great Exuma is the Grand Isle Resort.

If you like the idea of being part of a Resort, but very much self-contained, this three-bedroomed villa is the charming answer.  With your very own private, fully equipped kitchen and a master bedroom balcony that overlooks either the championship golf course or beautiful blue ocean, this is a modern and stylish base for the most indulgent and relaxing of vacations.

With a number of airlines serving Great Exuma from North America or daily connections via Nassau, it’s never been easier to get to Exuma.  In between heavenly spa treatments, rounds of golf in balmy weather conditions, there’s also an opportunity to get out and explore the nearby islands and cays and take a dip with some rather cute pigs.  Only in The Bahamas!

Swimming with Pigs

One of the many reasons visitors travel to the Bahamas is to swim with pigs in the Exumas. This is on everyone’s bucket list and is a great activity for both adults and children.

Swimming with Pigs

On a recent trip to the Bahamas our team experienced a day trip and went swimming with Pigs and starfish too. While staying at Grand Isle Resort we were picked up by a transfer and escorted to the boat dock where we were whisked away on the calm Bahamian waters to explore the Exumas.

We enjoyed a beachside picnic, a hike, an encounter with iguanas, we went swimming with starfish and of course our final stop was swimming with the pigs. It was an amazing experience and the pigs were friendly too. Our concierge department can arrange this excursion for you and your family and also direct you towards the many Bahamas points of interest.

The Bahamas is famous for so much.  Christopher Columbus first found the islands on his maiden voyage to the new world.  John Glenn, the astronaut who first orbited the earth, dropped back onto our planet in The Bahamas.  It’s the sort of place that seems to be filled with ‘firsts’ and events of great momentum.  A holiday to any of the villas in Nassau or further afield within the island chain will deliver
