Grace Bay Rentals

A state of Grace is the best way to characterise a visit to this jaw-droppingly beautiful beach. Grace Bay located in Providenciales within the island chain of Turks and Caicos, is the winner of numerous awards for its beachy perfection.

It has set the bar high.

Grace Bay Beach

The clear and clean turquoise waters, so calm that you can see right to the bottom, are married with the softest and whitest sands. Stretching over 3 miles along the largest island in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, you have the sublime backdrop to a vacation of a lifetime. Read more about our Turks and Caicos villas.

Slip off those Sandals

Grace Bay is first and foremost the ultimate beach vacation destination. If you are that couple, group of singles or family who believes the hallmark of a quality vacation is spending the majority of your time barefoot, you’ll find Grace Bay was created with you in mind.

Some of the most beautiful Grace Bay villas open out directly onto the bay, so a short stroll across the sandy beach will find you plunging into the divine temperate ocean. Days can be spent lolling in the gentle waves, sunbathing or drifting along the beach. There are miles of bays, one following the other, that make up over 12 miles of the coastline.

Your evenings can be a celebratory or relaxed affair where you take a ringside seat on your terrace to watch the sun slip beneath a golden sea. Relaxation is a key ingredient to each day’s beach exploration – you will find all of your cares are shrugged off as easily as you slip off your shoes.

A Class Act

Turks and Caicos has become one of those cosmopolitan destinations that offers guests a year-round sophisticated holiday experience. It arrived later to the vacation table than some of the Caribbean and Pacific islands and thus has wisely cherry-picked the best practices and cleverly avoided some pitfalls.

There’s a big emphasis on the ecological credentials of Turks and Caicos, and the clarity and purity of its beaches and islands reflect this. The Grace Bay rentals that are available on this, one of the more popular stretches of Turks and Caicos, benefit from access to a very unspoiled beach. Sheltered by a coral reef that sits about one mile off-shore, the waters that lap against the shore are calm. They allow visitors to safely and effortlessly engage with the natural world.

Grace Bay along with its neighbouring beaches of Bight, Smith’s Reef, Coral Gardens, Leeward and others, form part of the protected Princess Alexandra National Park. The prevailing east/south-easterly breezes offer an added advantage of washing seaweed away from shore, too: it’s rare to see any wash up along this rock-free beach.

Getting Busy

It’s a playground. Well, you just can’t have miles and miles of beach sitting safely within a few coral reefs and not find every iteration of fun on and off the water waiting for you. From one of the Grace Bay Beach ocean villas, you and your family can immerse yourselves in activities like snorkelling, paddle-boarding, wakeboarding, kiteboarding, windsurfing, scuba and free diving.

The climate, with over 300 days of sunshine each year, ensures the perfect conditions for splashing around in a swimsuit. Why not sign up for a few lessons or extend your existing skills? With so many water-based activities provided along Grace Bay Beach, there’s a lot of opportunities to blow off some steam.

rest about the many things to do in Turks and Caicos.

Seafaring Exploration

The reef off-shore is best explored by boat. Whether you power or sail out, it would be a pity not to snorkel or dive around the coral reef. Turtles, rays, a myriad of tropical fish and marine flora await just beneath the surface. Any of the reputable diving and sailing tours will advise on how best to enjoy the reef with a focus on safety for both you and the marine life.

As well as the thrill of underwater tours, you can arrange for an adventure off-shore on a catamaran. Your skipper will harness a good breeze, and you’ll glide across the ocean while enjoying the limitless horizon. It’s exhilarating. Deep-sea fishing is a popular activity for the intrepid sports person, with the waters around the islands flourishing with sea life.

Alternatively, if you wish to follow in the footsteps of some early explorers or pirates, then a day of yachting around the island of Providenciales is a must. There are many uninhabited islands perfectly poised to host your castaway-styled picnic.

Parasailing Boat at Grace Bay

The lovely bays and cays on the leeward side of Provo are interesting and a great place to stop for lunch. If you time your sailing to perfection, you could end a day of fun on the water with a glass of champagne from the deck of your vessel as the sun slips beneath the waves across Grace Bay.

If you enjoy a bit of wildlife, you will love a memorable trip to Little Water Cay, known as Iguana Island. The busy four-legged inhabitants seem to be as fascinated by humans as we are by them. A great family day out.

Getting About on Land

For anyone keen to keep his or her feet dry, there are many other tours around Provo. Why not join a group of like-minded landlubbers on an ATV tour of the island. For a slower approach to exploration, you can jump on a bike and follow the recommended cycle routes around the island. Horseback riding along the beaches is a showstopper.

From the adjacent Bight Beach, riders of all capabilities and ages can take to the saddle to enjoy a jaunt through the shallows. Hiking through Northwest Point Marine National Park will give you an opportunity to see Flamingos, Egrets and Herons in their natural habitat. The force of the Atlantic can be marvelled at with high waves crashing in against the rocky coast too.

Golf and Tennis

Very close to Grace Bay is the attractive Provo Golf and Country Club. The Course is listed in the Top 10 Caribbean Courses and is the only 18 hole course within the Turks and Caicos island chain. The pretty West Indian inspired clubhouse features the Fairways Bar and Grill that serves meals and snacks throughout the day. In addition to golf, there are tennis courts. All amenities are open to the public, with facilities on site from equipment rental to lessons.

Delicious

Grace Bay is at the heart of any Turks and Caicos vacation. It’s home to some of the best-regarded restaurants across the island group. A glamorous outing to Infiniti Restaurant and Raw Bar at the Grace Bay Club Resort combines exquisite dishes, ocean views and live music. It’s a romantic destination for lunch or dinner or drop in for some sunset cocktails.

The much-loved Flamingo Café, known colloquially as Ricky’s, has become an institution. Sitting on the beach, you can enjoy the food of the Caribbean – spicy jerk chicken, seafood, rice and peas. Another great option is the fabulous Da Conch Shack. It captures that whole laid back island vibe - shoes off, on the beach, live music and rum punches, not forgetting the tasty food, of course.

The big feature of any week in Provo is the street party known as the Thursday Fish Fry. This is a wonderful gathering that sees locals and tourists converge from all over Turks and Caicos and walk through the open market and food trucks and stalls that operate in Bight Park. The conch is a shellfish that is found on most Grace Bay menus and it’s transformed into any number of mouth-watering dishes. At the fish fry, it’s Conch Fritters that take centre stage.

A decadent Lobster Mac and Cheese is a close second. All types of yummy street food that bring together the best of Caribbean and Western cuisine can be enjoyed. Grab yourself a cocktail served in a pineapple and enjoy the party atmosphere. It’s a very family-friendly event, with local artists selling cute handmade souvenirs. It all winds down around 9.30 pm when the younger guests can drift back to their nests.

Even if you are enjoying the independent pleasures of one of the Grace Bay villa rentals with your own barbecue or chef, you will definitely want to venture out to sample some of the dining options. From cute cafes to ice cream parlours, there are lots of easy options to hit the spot during the day.

For those with longer battery life, there are restaurants catering to all tastes – Asian Fusion, Sushi, Italian, French to be found up and down Grace Bay. For more bar-dining options, check out Blu Bar and Lounge or the comically named Danny Buoys for sports nights.

Cheers

You’ll find all of your preferred beverage brands from back home in any of the bars around the island. In addition, you’ll find pedigree rums, whiskeys and gins ready to upgrade a cocktail or two. Extensive wine and champagne offerings show a wide and eclectic taste. The island, in all of its offerings, caters for visitors who have a sophisticated palate and diverse tastes.

The Destination for Everyone

So many vacation destinations around the world seem to attract visitors from very specific demographics. You can find beaches and resorts that seem to have been solely built for the retired traveller. Others are family-centric – with a focus on guests with very small children or teens. As well, those honeymoon resorts that all seem, frankly, a bit one dimensional proliferate in tropical locations.
