Located under the church of Agios Anargyros, Villa Ivi by Exceptional Villas is located close to amenities and the picturesque village square with its Venetian architecture. Sheltered from the Cycladic winds, Megalochori is a quaint and traditional village offering a friendly and peaceful alternative to the busier areas of the island. Villa Ivi once provided the villagers with a safe haven from marauding pirates who invaded the island. Today the villa, with its cool vaulted interior, provides an enchanting holiday home.
There is lots to do on this wonderful picturesque island and we would highly recommend walking Skaros Rock - especially at sunset - the views are incredible!
You and your guests will enter the property via sky blue painted doors that lead to the private courtyard. This idyllic and cobbled courtyard boasts a romantic and serene setting for guests. A Jacuzzi features and is ideal for soaking up the warm Greek sunshine and there are also sun loungers. It is the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of adventure exploring all that Santorini has to offer. The private courtyard of Villa Ivi is a sunspot and the white-washed walls beautifully reflect the light in this space. Alfresco dining is a must and olive trees in terracotta pots add to the peaceful ambience.

Pretty blue doors lead to the main living space of Villa Ivi. This room is based on an open plan concept and features a compact and well-equipped kitchen, dining area and living space. In keeping with the distinctive Cycladic architecture, this room boasts white-washed walls, arches and lots of natural light entering via the perfectly positioned windows. Décor is kept minimal, providing a no-fuss space for guests.
The spacious Master bedroom has a high domed ceiling, closet space and a view to the courtyard. A large bathroom, with modern amenities serves this bedroom. The second bedroom is a guest house that has its own entrance from the courtyard. The double bedroom is of a comfortable size and a small flight of stairs lead to the en-suite bathroom with shower.

Area description
Megalochori is a lovely village located in the centre of Santorini, with white painted houses, beautiful churches, narrow cobble streets and a quant village atmosphere surrounded by vineyards. It provides a perfect base from where to explore the island of Santorini. To get to the best beaches of the island (Perivolos, Vlyhada, Red Beach) is just a 10 minutes’ drive. At the same distance is the capital (Fira). The village started becoming popular the last years and has excellent restaurant options from traditional local tavernas to more gourmet options. A local bakery, mini-market, hairdresser and supermarket are also available. You can also enjoy a visit to the local winery Gavalas for wine tasting (2 minutes distance from the villa). Closing I would say that Megalochori is a true reflection of the local Santorini experience!
Santorini is an island that needs no introductions. On the top ten “most desired” destinations worldwide for the past ten years, almost everyone wishes to visit the island for at least one time in their lives.
The only habitable caldera in the world and famous destination for weddings, honeymoons and lovers of unique views it attracts visitors literally from all parts of the world.
Not only is Santorini one of the most beautiful islands in the world, it is also geologically and archaeologically one of the most dramatic. The island, which is also called Thira, is shaped like an enormous pair of jaws encircling a lake filled with pure blue water. This is the core of an ancient volcano, which according to legend destroyed the lost continent of Atlantis when it blew its top about 3,600 years ago, burying the ancient city of Akrotiri (now being excavated) under tons of ash and sending out tidal waves that inundated other landmasses.
The island's two towns, Fira and Ia, are perched on the cliff tops of the highest part of the island. Ferries arrive and depart in the harbour below, and visitors walk or ride donkeys up the steep winding path to the towns. The towns are equipped with hotels, good restaurants, bars and plenty of nightlife to keep visitors happy while you relax between visiting the archaeological remains of ancient Thera, dating back to the 9th century BC, on the east side of the island. Other attractions include the excavations at Akrotiri, an archaeological museum and an 18th-century monastery.
Santorini has two swimming beaches, Perissa and Kamari, both characterised by their volcanic black sand.
