This incredibly luxurious and unique vacation rental has one of the best locations in Zermatt. It is less than a 3 minute walk to the main Matterhorn Ski Lift and one minutes walk from the end of the ski slope making it almost ski in ski out - Something that is virtually impossible to find in the beautiful car free town of Zermatt. It is located in a quieter residential area of Zermatt yet just 5 minutes walk to the centre of the village where you will find a wonderful selection of beautiful shops, restaurants and nightlife. There are also lovely views to the Matterhorn from the sitting room, some of the bedrooms and from the indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi.

The Backstage loft which was designed and conceptualized by the very well known local artist - Heinz Julen is truly unique. The ambience of the Loft has a wonderful balance between contemporary art and traditional cosiness. All the furniture and fittings in the chalet were designed and made by Heinz Julen in his Studio in Zermatt and each piece is both beautiful and unique. The loft is truly stunning in every way but the overriding sense you get when you are staying here is of light. The main chalet features floor to ceiling windows both inside and outside allowing the wonderful light of Zermatt to flood into the beautiful interiors.

The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is particularly beautiful as if features double height floor to ceiling glass windows with views to the lovely Vispa river, Matterhorn, surrounding mountains and village. The centre point of the dining area is a stunning and unique chandelier made by Heinz Julen. With the press of a button it magically moves towards the ceiling allowing plenty of room for socialising should you wish to have a party in the Loft.

The hot tub is also very unique. With another switch of a button, the glass windows move aside changing the indoor hot tub to an outdoor one! But whether you choose to bath indoors or outdoors, the views to the Matterhorn from here are always stunning.

The Backstage loft features 5 en-suite bedrooms each with a queen sized bed, shower room and flat screened TV. 3 of the bedrooms are located in the main house and the other 2 bedrooms are located in a beautiful authentic 500 year old separate stubli next door which can be accessed by an underground tunnel or directly from the outside. This chalet which was one of the very first to be built in Zermatt has been uniquely preserved. All the wood in the house is original and many of the traditional features have been retained including the actual roof.

The lower floor of the Backstage Loft features a state of the art cinema room and a wellness and fitness room with the latest computerised Techno gym equipment. From here you have a lovely view of the river.
