Verbier
Verbier is a stunning Swiss village and one of the best alpine resorts in the world. Verbier is located in South West Switzerland in the canton of the Valais region and is boarded by France and Italy. You can easily access Verbier in Switzerland by public transport or by road. Visitors can reach the village in just two and a half hours from Geneva airport, 1 hour from Chamonix and 3 hours from Zurich.
Verbier features some of the most luxurious chalet rentals in Europe and offers visitors snow drenched mountains, a scenically beautiful location, great restaurants, an array of sporting amenities, a buzzing nightlife and some of the world best skiing. Verbier has something to offer everyone from a wide range of sports activities and the best night-life, it most certainly is a skiers paradise. Verbier is one of the best known ski resorts in Switzerland and boasts nearly 100 lifts with access to more than 400km of runs, including some of the best lift-served off piste in the Alps. Skiing is the main reason everyone visits Verbier and rightly so, it has some of the best slopes in the Alps and from the top of the ski area at Mont Fort which is at 3,330m you can even see as far as the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. One of the best things about Verbier is that snow is almost always guaranteed due to the high altitude, making it perfect for skiing and snowboarding, you can even get the opportunity to Heli-ski here too.
In Verbier you will find skiing available for all types of skier from advanced to beginners. For beginners we would recommend the area around Mont Gélé however it can be busy. If you are more advanced skier then you could take the cable car down to Tortin (2050m) for those that are more intermediate skiers there is a selection of red intermediate runs for you to enjoy. In Bruson which is on the opposite side of the valley, at 1080m is an excellent area for intermediate skiers. For the expert skiers, we would recommend Val de Bagnes where you can enjoy the black runs in Mont Fort and Combatzeline. If you prefer free style skiing then you will love Verbier’s excellent snow park, located at La Chaux.
