HISTORY:
Step back in time and embark on a journey through the rich history of Possessió de s'Horta, where the allure of centuries past comes alive. The earliest historical record of this magnificent estate dates back to the year 1329. Known as "de Marina" during the 14th century, this vast expanse of land spanning over 1,700 hectares has been intertwined with agricultural pursuits throughout its storied past. It experienced its zenith during the 18th and 19th centuries when the flourishing wine trade between Majorca and France flourished, only to be disrupted by the devastating arrival of phylloxera on the island.

Possessió de s'Horta remained under the stewardship of the same family for almost four centuries, passing down through generations. However, at the dawn of the 20th century, a new owner acquired the property and divided it, reducing its sprawling expanse to the two hectares it encompasses today. The estate's grandeur and ample dimensions made it an ideal site for a military headquarters, serving as an artillery regiment base from 1936 until the early 1950s. Following this period, it stood abandoned and untouched, a silent witness to its former glory. In 1994, the current owners acquired the property, described in official documents as mere "ruins." Undeterred, they embarked on a meticulous architectural restoration, meticulously reviving the original building structure and reclaiming its precious elements.
