Kenmare is situated on The Ring of Kerry and The Ring of Beara and simply has it all; Spectacular views of the mountains, lakes, rivers and sea, dozens of award-winning restaurants, an abundance of colourful heritage buildings, fine art galleries and craft shops, music & theatre at the carnegie arts center, live traditional music nightly in the local traditional Irish pubs, fully equipped equestrian & activity centre at eclipse equestrian & adventure and water sports and cruises at star outdoors plus so much more.
In each of the four ground floor rooms there is an open fireplace big enough to take the generous sized logs, which are plentiful in the nearby woods. Nicest of all, the fireplaces are tended to daily by the cottages own housekeeper.
The Kitchen is the focal point of this home by day. The inviting bay window seats give splendid views directly on to the bay and the majestic mountains, which tower high above the water. In the wintertime the eye-level fireplace casts a warm glow over the cottage guests who choose to dine at the 10-foot long impressive oak table.
The Sunroom, which opens onto the terrace, the perfect place for an afternoon of reading and relaxation. Two ergonomically shaped Scandinavian loungers, stacks of good books, flowering plants and fruit trees make it a difficult room to tear yourself away from.
The lounge has a traditional style open fireplace, candelabras and a polished oak floor, which is partly covered in a deep hand woven rug. Inviting sofas engulf you as you read from the library of handpicked volumes, whilst enjoying a drink from the well stocked drinks cabinet.
The bedrooms each with walk out balconies, small details such as a telescopic lens on a tripod affording you ample opportunity to scrutinise marine life and bird activity on the bay. The master bedroom has a 7ft x 7ft King Bed and in the second room the beds can be separated for twin occupancy or zipped and linked to make one large King Bed. There is no space for additional beds in this house so the maximum capacity is 4 people.
Both rooms have spacious marble bathrooms with twin vanities and separate shower stall to the bathtub. Balconies from both bedrooms overlook the bay for the last glance out over the Caha Mountains before you sleep.
Even though it is only a five-minute walk to the hotel reception, the cottages are completely hidden away from the hotel, with security gates to a private avenue that winds its way down to the cottages at the water's edge.
