Ffryes beach is a more popular beach and is a short walk along the board walk from Tamarind Hills. You are be able to walk over to this beach in minutes. Once you reach Fryers beach you will be amazed at the calm turquoise Caribbean Sea and the warm powdery white sand between your toes. The beach is relatively quiet here. We recommend a visit to Dennis’s Beach Bar and Grill which is just steps from the beach, making it an ideal beach to spend an entire day. "I had the privilege of staying in Tamarind Hills while there on my first trip to Antigua at the beginning of this month. We began our stay at Tamarind Oceans 1 and stayed there for two nights. It is a great 2-bedroom villa with a large living and dining space downstairs. The private terrace is simply wonderful! It has an infinity plunge pool which is perfect for a mid-morning dip and which overlooks Darkwood Beach. There is also a BBQ and shaded dining area for quintessential alfresco dining- having your breakfast out here while the sun rises is an absolute must! The bedrooms are comfortable, both with their own private en-suite bathroom, a TV and the all-important air conditioning. I would highly recommend this villa for families and friends alike.
From Tamarind Oceans 1 we moved on to Tamarind Oceans 9 and this villa is, without doubt, one of my favourite properties on the island. On entering, you are greeted with a real ‘sense of home.’ Three of the bedrooms are located on this level while downstairs you will find the forth bedroom, all of which have their own en-suite bathroom, TV and air conditioning. My colleagues and I all agreed they were the most comfortable beds we had ever slept in! An array of timeless ornaments and decoration throughout give the villa a distinct charm. The outdoor space features a BBQ, breakfast bar, dining table and chairs and an infinity plunge pool with surrounding loungers and the beautiful sea and beach views are the perfect backdrop for your alfresco dining with guests.
I cannot praise the staff of Tamarind enough! Everyone we met- from the friendly gatekeeper to the pool attendant to Brian the Manager- all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure we enjoyed every moment at Tamarind. We also got some great tips from Brian on local cafés and restaurants to try. Miracles, on the entrance road to Jolly Harbour is well worth a visit for delicious, local and beautifully-presented food!
During our visit to Antigua we viewed and stayed in some other properties on the island but I must say that my stay at Tamarind was the highlight of my trip! It is one of the most sought-after locations on the island and is nestled between Darkwood and Ffryes Beach. It is also a short drive from Jolly Harbour- a great location with a beautiful beach offering many local restaurants, water-sports and Yachting."
