Wight Away

Welcome to Wight Away, a beautiful 4-bedroom villa that resides in Driftwood village, close to the beautiful Cayman Kai beach, on the eastern side of Grand Cayman.

Hemmed by the Caribbean Sea to the front and the canal with a private quay to the rear, the serenity that Wight Away offers is second to none, and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy it; to the rear of the villa, a full terrace frames itself around a freshwater swimming pool, ideal for simmering down from a spell of sunbathing. The outdoor kitchen space beneath the gazebo has its own prep work area, and the barbeque leaves no room for debate for casual al fresco cookouts. The dining area sits beneath the shade of the veranda, arranged to look out and enjoy the still waters of the canal while you dine.

The open concept floor plan that joins the kitchen, dining room and lounge together gives the villa incredible scope, flooded with light from the terrace doors. The social hub of the house, Wight Away’s great room creates an airy and welcoming environment for guests to comfortably relax in. Access to the terrace from several points of the great room makes expanding the space outdoors an effortless task, and the wraparound porch makes it easy to direct a refreshing breeze through the villa.

The villa sleeps 10 people comfortably, 2 to each room combined with the use of the pull-out sofa that houses a Queen size bed. The villa is outfitted with three generously sized bathrooms, two en-suites for each master bedroom and one shared bathroom for the remaining rooms. Each room gets the palatial treatment; luxurious beds and bedding are to be found in each of the four bedrooms, with additional bedding available on request. The ambiance of the drifting wind through the palms and the sounds of lapping water are sure to lull anyone into a peaceful slumber.

Located just moments from Rum Point and overlooking the beautiful bioluminescent bay, the villa enjoys the privilege of having fabulous sunsets shine through it every evening, as well as being backed by a canal to its rear, that hosts its own private dock. Cayman Kai’s peace and seclusion is the rare luxury that many visitors to the island crave.

One of the most popular cruise ships destinations in the world, George Town, the islands’ capital, is not short of wonderful sights and sounds; any and all types of activity, both on and off the water can be found close by; historical museums, art galleries, wonderful boutiques, and superb restaurants are to be found all around, as well as walking tours to get to know the area like a local. On (or under!) the water, there is sailing, surfing, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, boat chartering, parasailing, swimming with stingrays… the list goes on, and you’ll be hard-pressed to fit everything into your trip. All the more reason to consider a second visit!
