Shell beach is a short walk from the capital Gustavia, and the scene of many weekend festivities, making it one of the best things to do in St Barts. You can take a dip in the wonderfully calm waters after a day’s shopping in the town. Restaurant Shellona is located on the beach. There is a lovely view of the islands of Statia and Saba. It is a good place to go when the other beaches are a bit too windy as it is almost always tranquil and calm enough for swimming and sunbathing.

Gustavia is also very close by to this exquisite vacation rental in St Barths. Gustavia is one of the prettiest harbour towns in the Caribbean. Its steep bay walls tumble to a rectangular waterfront with attractive red-roofed buildings overlooking the harbour from three sides. There is a lovely boardwalk around much of the waterfront. Here you will find lots of small boats and tenders moored at the restaurants and bars which gives it a lovely atmosphere.

In the winter season, Gustavia is one of the most fashionable places in the world with many luxury yachts moored shoulder to shoulder. Onshore the streets are steep and narrow and full of character. There is often a lively buzz around many of the bars and restaurants, particularly along the boardwalk. The streets are lined with serious fashion names such as Louis Vuitton and Hermes as well as some beautiful boutiques and designers that are unique to St Barths.

The living room and indoor dining area of the stunning 5 bedroom St Barths rental open directly onto the terrace and the panoramic view; sliding glass doors and air conditioning can turn the space into a cool retreat from the sun. The living room transforms into a home cinema at the touch of a button, with a surround-sound stereo and a large HDTV that rises out of the floor. On the interior side of the living area is a peaceful and secluded Zen garden, surrounded by bamboo trees and offering a soothing atmosphere, with a gentle fountain and a cooling misting system. Adjacent to the living and dining area you will find the convenient and excellently equipped kitchen.

Sleeping accommodations include five (queen) bedrooms with baths en suite. Two are on the main level with terraces and the option of connecting, and three are on the lower level (Note the 5th bedroom is slightly smaller.) All are beautifully decorated in modern style and a soothing palette of greys and whites – and boast ocean views; baths are well-appointed with rain showers and bidets. There is a guest bath on the main level.
