Villa Murat Santorini is a beautifully restored 200-year-old villa perched on the iconic Caldera cliff in the upper part of Fira. The villa boasts 170 square meters of internal space and 200 square meters of terraces and balconies. Each double bedroom has a king or queen-size bed and fully equipped bathrooms. The villa also includes two kitchens—one fully equipped and the other smaller with a dining area—two living rooms with sofa beds that accommodate additional guests, and a heated infinity pool with a bubble jet massage system overlooking the mesmerizing volcano. The spacious yard includes a dining table that seats up to 12 people, while the terraces are furnished with sunbeds and seating areas, perfect for soaking in the views.

HISTORY:
Villa Murat has been in the same family for generations, passed down to the owner’s French grandmother, Filomen Murat, from her uncle, Theofanis Tripolitis. Dating back to before the 1900s, it is one of Santorini's oldest homes, likely built between 1850 and 1875. These "Kapetanospita" (Captain’s Houses) were grand residences for wealthy sea captains, much like American mansions.

The villa's name and crest come from our ancestor, Antoine Murat, a Viscount appointed by his cousin Joachim Murat, King of Naples and son-in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte. Villa Murat survived the 1956 earthquake, remaining one of the few historic homes intact on the island. Today, it stands as a symbol of our family’s history and Santorini’s timeless charm.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS:
Bedroom 1:
This spacious bedroom is designed over two levels. It features a king-size bed on the loft above its own private living room and an en-suite bathroom. The bedroom can be closed off from the rest of the house through double doors that lead to a second kitchen and bedroom area. A separate door provides direct access to the outside terrace.

Bedroom 2:
Like the first, this bedroom is arranged over two levels with a king-size bed on the loft above a smaller kitchen and dining area. It also includes an en-suite bathroom. The bedroom and kitchen area can be fully separated from the rest of the villa by locking the doors on either side—one connects to the first living room/bedroom, while the other opens into the main living room. A separate door also leads to the outdoor terrace.

Bedroom 3:
Located on the ground floor and accessed through the second living room, this bedroom is perfect for older guests or anyone with limited mobility. Situated in the underground part of the house, the room has been renovated to maintain the traditional cave-style architecture. The en-suite bathroom features a unique walk-in cave shower. The room can be closed off from the rest of the house by locking the door leading to the second living room.

Bedroom 4:
This cozy bedroom offers a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. A large mirror on the wall separating the bedroom from the bathroom reflects the stunning Caldera view through the window, adding a romantic, modern touch. Accessed via the main living room and kitchen, a short corridor with four steps leads to this bedroom, making it the most private room in the house, perfect for couples or teenagers seeking a little extra seclusion.
