Welcome to Villa Il Gelso, where you and your guests will have the best of both worlds: a classic 20th century palace with a recent sleek, state-of-the-art upgrade, in a serene village setting with all the must-see sights close by. It is family friendly with many spaces to gather, but also plenty of quiet corners.

The stunning Villa Il Gelso is located right at the water’s edge, with Lake Como lapping at its feet. The villa is ideally situated in the fishing village of Lezzeno, where you can enjoy a polenta meal at a mountain chalet, cruise across the shimmering waters to historic sights or do some shopping on Bellagio’s elegant cobbled lanes. For the days where you wish to unwind on the property, you can bask in the villa’s picturesque setting, panoramic pool and private pebble beach.

Villa Il Gelso is spread across three floors, where the living spaces feature sleek contemporary décor that compliments the original features like period fireplaces and capitalizes on the Lake Como views. On the main floor there is an open plan living/dining room, a state-of-the-art kitchen, half bathroom and access to the adjoining garden and pool area. On each of the two upper floors, you will find one twin bedroom with its own shower room and one suite with a king bedroom, shower room and private sitting room. In one of the sitting rooms you will also find a sofa bed for an additional guest.

The private swimming pool is surrounded by a well-manicured garden that invites you to relax on the sun loungers, gather around the stone table under the vine covered pergola and avail of the private access to the adjoining pebble beach.

Whether you wish to venture out on your own in a rental car or use the convenient local transportation, this area’s quaint villages and must-see sights are all within easy reach. If you are looking for some additional inspiration, we have put together a list of our favorite things to do in Lake Como. There are some small supermarkets in the village of Lezzeno, for when you need a few items or for bigger shops you can make your way into Bellagio which is a 10-minute drive away. For those nights where you are not enjoying an evening meal in the villa, we recommend that you head down to mingle with the locals for your Aperitivo at the local bar.
