WATER SPORTS

The Water Sports Beach is a short walk from the Fleming Villa. Water sports guides and instructors are trained lifeguards and skilled sailors. They assist with beach towels, snorkeling gear, glass bottom kayaks, paddle boards and jet skis. Ask for lessons and enjoy the many coral reefs nearby.

Glass Eye: the Glass Bottom Boat
View the sea while staying dry. Over 700 species of fish can be found in the waters of Jamaica’s turquoise sea among scores of corals: purple stag horn, red fire, brains and lacey sea fans called tubipora. The complimentary Glass Bottom Boat operates daily.

Deep Sea Fishing
Blue and white marlin, barracuda, sailfish, spearfish, dolphin and wahoo. 38’ power boat “For Your Eyes Only” and “Whaler One,” the 33’ sport and fishing boat. Water and Red Stripe come with the trip. Add a picnic for the ride. For Your Eyes Only 1-8 persons $250/hr 2 hr min. Whaler One 1-6 persons $600 5 hr trip.

Scuba Diving
Open water dives to max depths of 60 feet. Training and certification arranged on site for $450.

TENNIS
Flood-lit court open day and night first-come-first served. Tennis pro avail on request.

SPA
The Field Spa for massage, brightening facials, purifying body treatments, healing water therapies and energy work. Treatments and therapies can also take place in your own bedroom on request. Elixirs, essential oils, tonics and creams are infused with the healing flowers and herbs grown at Pantrepant, GoldenEye’s 2500-acre organic farm in Trelawny Parish and on-site nurseries. Jamaica’s plant wealth is among the most prized in the world. With over 2,888 known flowering medicinal and aromatic plant species, 27% are endemic, meaning they are found nowhere else on earth.

GoldenEye will plan a custom itinerary of special activity for children. Tap into its network of artists and athletes, teachers, naturalists, craftsmen, musicians and storytellers as well as outright characters. Enrich the vacation experience with this unique range of expertis, classes and special activities for kids. GoldenEye offers kids an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature, stimulate and enhance passions and curiosities about the natural world and culture unlike their own … with time to form an intimate relationship with earth, sea, ski and new friends, teachers and mentors. Here, children deepen their understanding and respect for the world. For various rates, Arts, Crafts & Culture classes include painting murals, collages and fabric; making pottery, jewelry and dolls; kids yoga and/or meditation; and Ecology Rainforest Flower project. And just for fun, they’ll also learn how to carve a coconut into a monkey they can take home!

Firefly
The view from Firefly is simply the finest in the whole Caribbean. Undisputed. From the island’s aboriginal people, the Taino, to the notorious pirate Henry Morgan, it is considered sacred. In 1948, Noel Coward rediscovered what was then called “lookout,” renamed it Firefly and spent the next 20 years there entertaining the most glamorous personalities of the day. Coward is buried on the lawn. (20-minute drive along the coast)

Cranbrook Flower Farm Hike and Picnic
A 150-acre botanical garden, crafted in a lush valley that curves up into the hills. This is a small treasure 20 minutes west of Ocho Rios. A beautiful 90-minute walk leads to a riverhead, an exquisite blue pool where visitors can swim.

Horseback Ride n Swim at Chukka Cove, St. Ann
Saddle up for the 2-hour ride n swim. Ride along Papillon Cove where the movie was shot in 1973. Ride the coastline to Chukka Beach for and a romp in the sea. The bareback ride in the sea is amazing.

Wasi Art
Pottery studio off Fern Gully Road. The studio employs and nurtures many local artists and craftsmen and is environmentally friendly, processing its own clay and using clean paints and lazes.

Fern Gully
3-mile canyon on an old watercourse planted with hundreds of varieties of ferns around 1880.
Harmony Hall Art Gallery
Charming building C. 1886 when it was the Methodist Manse adjoining a pimento estate. Exhibition season mid-November through Easter. Features Jamaica’s most interesting contemporary artists.

Island Village
Cultural theme park next to the cruise ship pier in the heart of Ocho Rios. Duty-free shopping, crafts, coffee and cigars, jewellery, book stores, Margaritaville.

Dunn’s River Falls
Try the exhilarating experience of climbing 600 feet up a waterfall from the white sand beach where the river empties in the to sea. Lots of craft stalls. A natural wonder.

Dolphin Cove
Natural cove in 5 acres of a lush rain forest. Just watch or swim with the dolphins and enjoy the thrill of this amazing adventure.

Mystic Mountain
100 acres of land stretching from the coast to 700’ above sea level. Jamaican bobsled ride and zip line.
