An amazing number of restaurants in lovely settings dot the island and the food is almost always exceptional. St. Barth is truly a paradise for gourmets and foodies alike. St Barths has over 80 restaurants that range from gastronomique fine dining in the best hotels to sidewalk cafes and feet-in-the-sand beachside grilles. Food ranges from traditional French to West Indian flavour. You will even find some of the best Italian food on the planet in St Barths. With provisions flown in from Paris every day, and often paired with local seafood, dining here is considered to be the best in the Caribbean, and rivals any city in the world.
Reservations, always recommended, are a must in high season. Some of our favourite restaurants include:
On The Rocks with Jean Georges
‘On-The-Rocks’ restaurant at Eden Rock is somewhat legendary for its barefoot luxury Ocean beach setting combined with outstanding French-Fusion cuisine.
Le Ti St Barth
For people who like to party, Le Ti is the place to go. Everything you may have heard about the place is true. Gourmet food, Champagne in abundance, fashion Show. DJ’s, floor show and cool people from around the planet dancing on tables. Open every night except Sunday and Monday
A hit in New York, Bagatelle’s second location on the waterfront in Gustavia is equally appealing. It is a trendy brassiere with chic French style. The menu features red tuna tartar with citrus pureed avocado and other signature dishes.
Nikki beach is another great spot for party goers. Located next to the Eden Rock Hotel on St Jean Beach, it offers an extensive menu featuring food from different parts of the world where the brand is located. There is always a party here with an endless variety of fashion shows, cabaret performances and events.
L’isola’s reputation as one of the best if not the best restaurant on the island is justified. Bringing the flavours and essence of Italian cuisine to St Barth, L’isola is renowned for its sophisticated recipes using the finest ingredients imported directly from Italy.
Sophisticated cosy, casual and contemporary best describe Bonito. It feels like the blend between a luxury villa yacht and an intimate living room setting. A great night to go to Bonito is on a Sunday when they have live entertainment.
L’Esprit Jean Claude Dufour
Chef Jean Claude Dufour with his wife Sonia have opened this new restaurant in Saline and already it has the reputation of being one of the best in St Barths. The cuisine is sophisticated with flavours from around the world. The atmosphere in the garden is very romantic at nigh time.
Sand Bar with Jean Georges
Located right on the sand on St Jean beach, the sand bar restaurant is a wonderful spot for both breakfast and lunch. The food is overseen by world famous Chef Jean-George and the atmosphere is wonderful. Many of the salads and vegetables are hand grown at the Eden Rock’s own greenhouse.
Even though St. Barth can be relatively quiet late at night, there are a few very fun restaurants that change into nightclubs and party time later on in the evening.
