Welcome to Sisindu T, an absolutely splendid 6-bedroomed villa located smack in the middle of a working Tea Plantation on the south coast of the magical island country of Sri Lanka. Perched on an elevated position at the top of a hill 800 feet above sea level, and surrounded by natural lush tropical foliage, Sisindu T offers guests a very unique experience in a really special part of the world.

This incredible privately-owned home was designed by one of Sri Lanka’s leading architects, retaining the local architectural vernacular throughout the property. The villa occupies 8.5 acres of land in the Pokkuluwna Kanda Estate, incorporating a tea plantation and surrounded by jungle. The estate itself is stunning, growing tea, cinnamon, fruit and pepper. It is also home to many beautiful exotic birds, peacocks and monkeys. Due to its’ elevated position, Sisindu T always benefits from cool breezes and boasts views to the ocean in one direction and over the jungle in others. You can almost hear Tarzan’s call in the distance.

The property is very spacious, featuring huge living and dining areas. You have the luxury of lots of space, yet the house also has many secluded areas for chilling out in privacy. On one side of the living area, you will find a verandah with bench sofas, surrounded by a pond filled with Water Lilies, overlooking the jungle over the tea plantation. On the other side is a terrace with colonial planter’s chairs and cane sofas with views towards the Indian Ocean and perfect for sunset views. It really is a very unique place to spend quality time with your family or perhaps with a group of friends. This magnificent villa is beautifully furnished and decorated in typical Sri Lankan style. Mostly everything within the house has been sourced in Sri Lanka, from the 1930s steel bathtubs to the paneling in one of the bedrooms, which was once displayed in a Buddhist Temple. Many of the quirky artefacts in the home have been preloved and were discovered in Sri Lankan antique shops. The owner has an incredible knack for creating a very loving, welcoming & interesting home. The enormous ground floor living and dining areas at Sisindu T encircle a spacious and very well-equipped kitchen with impressive 360-degree views. The air-conditioned TV room with large sprawling sofas is equipped with an interesting library of DVDs and box sets and is ideal for relaxation. The beautiful roof terrace is an ideal spot for soaking up the midday sun, enjoying sunset drinks or simply relaxing and listening to the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.

4 of the 6 bedrooms occupy the ground floor of the villa, 1 is located on the first floor and for those seeking more privacy, 1, known as the Jungle Room, is located in the garden.

Outside, in the luxuriant tropical gardens, amongst exotic flowers and fruit trees you will find the Jungle Room, a self-contained building with verandah, featuring an en suite bedroom and massage room. A 53-foot x 18-foot L-shaped infinity pool adjoins the main house with plenty of comfortable sun loungers and parasols from where you can watch monkeys playing in the trees.
