Arriving to the villa is already a special experience. Wrought iron gates welcome you to its impressive courtyard filled with colorful bushes, fragrant flowers and trees, swaying palm trees and native stone walls and stairs that lead you to the main entrance of your home away from home.
The living quarters are distributed on two levels. The first floor houses the Great Room, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen ready to cater to the needs of a private chef or the designated cook in the group, a comfortable living room and an indoors dining area. In the outdoors you will find the sun deck, the lavish swimming pool, a wet bar and a roofed outside living and dining room setting. An interior staircase will conduct you to the second floor which includes a cozy sitting area, the master bedroom suite, the guest bedroom suite and a third bedroom apartment. Two additional bedrooms cand be found in the guest house, located to the left of the pool area and main house.
The living room is a few stairs down from when you first enter the main house. You are immediately welcomed by the warm and elegant atmosphere of this living space. The furnishing are beautiful, yet comfortable, and you will enjoy settling in to watch your favorite sports team or TV drama on the Dish Network satellite TV. However, the best entertainment is not to be missed; just open the French doors on to your covered veranda, sit back and relax in your comfortable outside furniture and watch the ever-changing turquoise seas and beautiful sail boats and yachts as they cruise by on their way through the islands.
There are three dining areas at Rotunda. The interior formal dining area includes a mahogany table seating from 8 to 10 guests at a time. The outside dining table, located off the kitchen, seats from 6 to 8 guests, and for those who are early risers in the morning, they can enjoy their first cup of coffee or tea at the kitchen table, which seats up to 4 guests. No lack of choices to enjoy your meals!
The fully fitted gourmet kitchen is located a few stairs up from the living room area and includes Viking stainless steel appliances and all the modern amenities that are wanted when preparing a home cooked meal. Or if you prefer, hire a private chef and let them prepare and pamper you instead.
When your body and mind are set for a good night’s rest, the bedrooms distribution of this estate is the best, providing privacy and comfort for every member of the family or group of friends. The three main house bedrooms are located on the second floor and all are accessed by an interior staircase. This layout makes it perfect for families traveling with younger children. The master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed, and guest bedroom suite with a queen-sized bed, include beautiful, vaulted ceilings, private en-suite bathrooms with tiled showers, air-conditioning, Dish Satellite TV and private balconies with gorgeous views of the north shore. The third main house bedroom with a king-sized bed, is an apartment with a small kitchen and sitting area which includes a pullout sofa. The two-story guest house is located to the left of the main house and sun deck. Each air-conditioned bedroom is beautifully appointed and includes a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom with outdoor garden shower, Dish Satellite TV and a private balcony.
The infinity pool, sun deck and wet bar are the centerpiece of this gorgeous estate. The preferred spot for relaxing in the pool water, basking in the warm sun while working on your tan and enjoying fruity refreshing cocktails during the day, or perfecting your bartender skills on creative pre-dinner cocktails in the evenings. No matter the time of day or evening, you are sure to enjoy the stunning views, be them watching the sun rise over the British Virgin Islands or the sun set back towards St. Thomas. A unique experience in a unique place.
The road from Cruz Bay to Rotunda winds along the fabled north shore of St. John and is rated one of the most scenic drives in the Caribbean. At Peter Bay, you take a right onto a private drive that is bordered by handsome stone walls and cascading bougainvillea. After climbing to an elevation of about 560 feet, the spectacular views and the tiled roofs of Rotunda appear through the trees – you will notice you have arrived at a very special place. Rotunda is located in upper Peter Bay, and towers over the homes located in lower Peter Bay.
Peter Bay is surrounded by the National Park which creates a wonderful and natural setting. The view is just breathtaking as it sweeps for more than 180 degrees, from sunsets over St. Thomas, Hans Lollick and Lovango Cay in the west, past Jost Van Dyke and Great Thatch in the north, to Tortola in the east. Below, you find the white sands and turquoise waters of St John’s legendary north shore, while all around you is a forest of green. This is one of the finest, most highly prized locations on St. John and in the entire Caribbean.
Rotunda has deeded access (during the day) to the beach at Peter Bay, a white sand beach with tranquil waters and good swimming and snorkeling. Another option is a 5-minute drive to the world class National Park beaches at Trunk or Cinnamon Bays. It is a 12 to 15 minutes beautiful drive into the excellent restaurants and shops in the charming town of Cruz Bay.
