Rocking Chair Lodge is a standalone house situated in a 16-acre private & prestigious neighborhood known as The Porches. Featuring 10,400 square feet and the ability to accommodate up to 16 guests comfortably, Rocking Chair Lodge is the perfect choice for a superb mountain retreat for your extended family or group of friends.

This splendid house is custom-designed and finished to the highest of standards with top-of-the-line furnishings and décor, including wonderful stone and wood flooring, wall to wall tiling in all bathrooms and multiple gas fireplaces with ornate custom-made ironwork.

The magnificent Great Room which features exposed wooden beams is an extensive, inviting place where you and your guests can relax in front of the welcoming fireplace on oversized leather couches and armchairs. The Great Room is open to the floor above, where another opulent space with beautiful furnishings also acts as an office, or indeed a cozy nook to escape for a little privacy.

The gourmet kitchen at Rocking Chair Lodge is any chef’s dream workshop and equipped with just about every gadget required for culinary creations. This fabulous kitchen has many unique features including copper sinks, a double ironstone island, two dishwashers, built-in Miele Espresso Machine, four gas burners and a beautiful AGA range. There is seating for 4 spectators on the outside island and a large TV overhead.

The adjoining beautiful dining room area provides seating for 12 at the impressive granite dining table adorned by exquisite chandeliers.

Rocking Chair Lodge is a hive of entertainment opportunities. A media room on the lower level of the house provides a real movie theatre experience, with reclining seats and a large screen. A wet bar provides further fun with a pool table, ping pong and foosball tables and the added comfort of a fireplace, refrigerator and icebox for refreshments to hand. And for added measures, a 14-foot high climbing wall will put your guests to great challenges. An additional playroom is set up for card and board games.

The deck at Rocking Chair Lodge is huge and features an outdoor fireplace and rocking chairs, where you can relax and take in the clear mountain air and magnificent mountain views. The upper deck boasts a private hot tub, where you can relax under the starry skies.

Rocking Chair Lodge offers 6 exceptional bedrooms, with an emphasis on luxurious comfort in each. The master suite is located on the main floor, featuring a unique 90 square foot bed, a rock fireplace and offering direct access to the front patio. The equally luxurious en suite bathroom boasts an oversized jetted bathtub and a towel warmer – perfect for warming up after a day on the mountain. Five additional bedrooms occupy the top floor of the house, one being a queen suite with full kitchen. A large bunk room with 3 twins and 3 full size beds is ideal for children. A second master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed. The fourth bedroom has a king bed and the fifth has a queen. Each of these exquisite bedrooms have beautifully fitted bathrooms.

Guests staying at Rocking Chair Lodge are welcome to use all of the amenities exclusive to The Porches neighborhood, including a 6,000 square foot barn featuring an outside heated pool and hot tubs, Al Fresco dining BBQ deck with fire pit, a fitness center, children’s playroom and business center. An on-call shuttle service is available for easy access to the ski mountain and downtown area of Steamboat for shopping and restaurants.
