All four bedrooms are air-conditioned. The master bedroom is located in the penthouse part of the apartment and is beautifully furnished with a super king size bed and has the benefit of en-suite facilities, marble fittings, a large corner bath. Bedroom 2 is also a king size bedroom with en-suite. The third and fourth bedrooms are both twin bedrooms with en-suites.The third can also be converted to a King bed if needed.
Reeds House is a secluded boutique beach-front development between the Royal Pavilion and Cobblers Cove Hotels. Sandy Lane and the Royal Westmoreland golf courses are only 5 - 10 minute drive away, as are several tennis clubs and health spas. First day back to work after a restful vacation.
I wanted to let you know we had a wonderful vacation and that the Reeds House was just as it was advertised. The staff was beyond amazing; Mark was the general maintenance chap who was on site 6 days per week, and he very thoughtfully gave us his personal cell phone # should we need any assistance. He helped us out a bit of a pickle on Mother’s Day Sunday when the Cool Running’s folk forgot to pick us up for our booked catamaran excursion. Mark phoned a few individuals he knew and quickly secured us a car to take us to the Bridgetown Marina! Cool Running’s compensated the fare along with our most grateful tip!
Sabrina was our cook/housekeeper and she did a wonderful job of making us feel comfortable. We worked with her regarding timing etc. and she prepared our dinners late afternoon, with me heating up later in the evening. It worked well with her arriving by noon and usually leaving by 3-3:30. The only challenge we had with the apartment was hot water. Reed’s house 1 is at the far end of the property with the water boiler being at the extreme opposite end and with occupancy low (meaning no hot water was being pulled through the building) we had to run water ahead of time to ensure we had hot water to bath or wash dishes. All being said we were able to work it out and manage.
The beach was very small; but that worked great for us, it made it very private and intimate. Each morning the staff put out the chaise lounges and umbrellas on the beach for each of the occupants which was a nice touch! No scrambling for chairs and umbrellas like you do at a resort!
We had dinner at the Tides and the Cliff. The Cliff was as we remembered very amazing! We enjoyed the Tides but quite honestly nothing is like the Cliff! Considering the cost is very close to the same, next time we would go to the Cliff twice!
The driver that picked us up from the airport was lovely and we continued to use his service for the remainder of the trip! We did use the yellow buses a few times to take us into the Holetown supercenter (10 minute bus ride) - those buses are certainly an experience..
We have already been discussing our next trip to Barbados next year and will probably look at Leamington cottage; although we are interested in seeing how the renovations transpire at Reeds.
Many thanks to both of you for all you did to make this a wonderful experience on all levels! And now that we have done this once I believe it will be much easier next time as we now have a better sense of how best to prepare when looking at rental properties.
