Welcome to Point of View at the Tryall Club, a luxury 5 bedroom private villa located on the highest point at the renowned Tryall Club in Montego Bay.

Point of View sits on one of the most spectacular sites in the Caribbean and perhaps the whole world. A sweeping panorama stretches down the mountain and across the 18-hole championship golf course to the deep blue Caribbean and distant horizon from its unique vantage point.

Despite its lofty perch, this private home is just minutes from the wonderful amenities at Tryall – the Great House, beach, golf and tennis pro shops via the villa’s complimentary transportation carts (two four-seaters and one six-seater).

An all-over renovation recently closed the home for two years. The result is a picture-perfect palate of 18th and 19th Century Colonial furnishings in tasteful harmony with this 21stCentury transformation. Remarkable are the natural cut stone floors, custom etched, so they are actually cool and soft underfoot. Bedroom floors are gleaming wide-plank mahogany complementing Chippendale, Queen Anne and Regency furnishings.

The Point of View grounds are a paradise for bird watchers: wild parrots, red-headed woodpeckers and John Crows are native. Actually, the homeowner has created a safe haven here for colourful love birds, finches, white doves, and beautiful Amazon Green and African Red-tailed Grey parrots. The gardeners and butler will “introduce” you to them in their cages if you wish. And don’t miss the oldest occupant who lives in the fountain, our resident turtle.

No description of this piece of land would be complete without mentioning a singular characteristic: silence. Many hours of the day, the only sounds are songbirds and the wind rustling through tall palms. If escape and quiet are the therapies you crave, this is the right place.

To waken here and step outside is poetry. As the morning sun touches the heavily-forested mountain across the valley, a pair of John Crows soar gracefully and noiselessly overhead. Morning is one of the many times of day when simply sitting still, looking and listening affirms that all’s right with the world.

Emerald green Zoysia grass covers the wide lawns and feels like velvet underfoot. For horticulturists, this vacation experience is enriched by an amazing 17 species of palms including Royal, Washingtona, Solitaire, Phoenix Robelenii, Christmas, Cycad, Zima Foxtail, Chamadorea, Areca, Queen, Japanese Fan and Lipstick Palm named for its red stem. Guests love to photograph the beautiful Bismarck Giant Fan Palm. Other artistically-placed blooms are Frangipani, Datura and gorgeous ginger lilies. The Sun Vanda orchid garden flourishes here, and the Lantana attract butterflies.

STAFF During your stay at Point of View you will be taken care of by our wonderful team of staff that includes our chef, butlers, housekeepers, gardeners and laundress. Meals at Point of View merit special mention. Chef Conrad excels at his craft. His organic garden produces arugula, tomato, lettuce, sweet basil, chives, eggplant, parsley and much more produce in season. Memorable meals are served on Limoges, Villeroy & Boch and Lynn Chase tableware with fine silver, crystal and linens. Even the napkin holders that complement each setting are distinctive!

THE TRYALL CLUB MEMBERSHIP
At The Tryall Club, the team is committed to continually improving their services and offerings to ensure that guests have the best possible experience during their stay. The Tryall Club is a private members club, so all guests 13 years of age and older are required to take out a Temporary Membership, which will be charged upon arrival at check-in.

Temporary Membership Dues now start at USD $32 per day, plus a 15% service charge, for guests ages 16 years and older who stay for one to four days. For guests who stay for five to seven days, the Temporary Membership Dues are now US $160 plus a 15% service charge. Children between the ages of 13 and 15 pay at a discounted rate of 50% plus a 15% service charge. For children 12 years and younger, Temporary Membership Dues are complimentary.

Includes beach, tennis, gym, pool, Hummingbird Kids Club, non-motorized water sports, Internet room, Usain Bolt Games Room for kids, teens & adults, jogging trail, afternoon tea & Manager's Cocktail Party. On 2,200 acres, Tryall’s golf course is among the most beautiful in the world. Its 18 hillside and seaside fairways have been home to the Johnnie Walker, Mazda and other PGA championship events. The resident pro offers workshops and private lessons. The Tryall tennis club features nine Nova Cushion courts, some lit for night play, with world-class pro’s on call. All white attire required.

The beach is well planned for parents and children. Have lunch at the beach bar. Work out in the well-equipped gym and compete in the new Usain Bolt Games Room at the Great House (teens love it). Jog the marked trails. Snorkelling, kayaking, Hobie Cat and sunfish are complimentary. Glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft attract various fees. Enjoy the week’s events, including the Monday Night Manager’s Cocktail Party and the Wednesday and Friday night beach parties and buffets.

On the hill, enjoy the historic Great House for daily 4:00 tea and sweets. Shop at the convenient commissary and chic boutique, and meet for happy hour and snacks at the casual bar. Also at the Great House is the new Usain Bolt Games Room open all day and night for ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, chess and checkers, board games, comfy reclining chairs and HDTV. And don’t miss the massive Tryall pool (ping pong table there too). The Tryall Club is thoughtfully designed to please toddlers, preteens, tweens, moms, dads and everyone from teens to octogenarians.
