Area description
Snowmass is regarded as one of Colorado’s favorite mountain destinations, with excellent terrain, perfect trails, great dining and a fun après ski scene. The mountain itself is 14,000 feet tall and is located in the Elk Mountain Range southwest of the town of Snowmass Village.
This resort area is home to unparalleled skiing and snowboarding opportunities with direct ski-in/ski-out access to Snowmass mountain. Buttermilk mountain, Aspen mountain and Aspen Highlands are also very close by. You can experience the varying experiences of each mountain with a single lift ticket, covering an area of more than 5,000 acres and 330 ski trails in the most beautiful and rugged terrain of Colorado. Snowmass alone offers 94 trails and has 21 chairlifts. The resort caters to all levels of skiers with beginner runs, intermediate and advanced runs. There are plenty of shops in Snowmass village from where you can rent skis, snowshoes and helmets.
Snowmass Village is a hub of activity all year round, bursting with energy. There are always exciting activities on offer and cultural events for all the family. You can enjoy ice skating outdoors or test your stamina on the five-story climbing wall or spend time inside the new community hub playing arcade games.
Although Snowmass is notorious for its world class skiing and snow sports, the area is particularly majestic in the summertime.
