Waking each morning to the sounds of nature, lucky guests can embrace 700 acres of woodland, lakes, rivers, and parkland, all part of the Ballynahinch Castle experience. 

The five bedrooms, all ensuite, are light-filled and airy. The kitchen is fully-equipped and spacious, ideal for guests who love picking up delicious fresh produce from nearby markets.
Any budding culinary wizard will enjoy preparing flavorful family meals. Why not try some of Ballynahinch Castle’s recipes: the divinely decadent Chocolate and Lavender Tea Cakes or something more substantial like Brown Soda Bread?

If heavy-duty catering isn’t your idea of a restful break, take the short journey to the Castle and enjoy the formal dining of the Owenmore Restaurant with fabulous river views. Or perhaps the cozy, less formal Fisherman’s Pub is your idea of heaven. Seasonal fare, open turf fires, and a warm welcome are all part of the unforgettable experience.

You can light your open fire for lazy evenings at Lettery Lodge and settle in for a romantic evening. Alternatively, a casual barbecue, dining in your private garden, watching the evening light fade, and chatting about your day of adventures is wonderful too. Younger and not-so-younger guests can dabble with the concept of a misspent youth and polish up their pool skills in the Lodge’s games room. With lots of open space and sunsets in high summer, as late as 10pm, evenings aren’t difficult to fill. 

The furnishing and fixtures throughout the Lodge create a luxurious and cozy space. Plus, sofas, fine fabrics, and bed linens are the soft touches that work well with the natural stone features. Rejuvenating is the word used most frequently by repeat guests. Lettery Lodge is a timeless destination where each day is informed by the play of sun and shade against the colors of the lake. A three-minute walk from the Lodge will bring you to the beautiful Ballynahinch Castle. This 18th Century Castle is a wonderful example of the great houses of Ireland. Elegant reception rooms and large windows that draw in that uniquely magical Connemara light, all overseen by professional staff that instantly become friends. 

The Lodge is fully self-catering but with access to all the amenities at the Castle. You will find a welcome hamper at the Lodge when you check in. Also, a kitchen pre-stock service can be arranged for an extra fee to make your arrival easier. The luxurious Lodge has free Wi-fi. Guests can access available bikes to tour the estate.

LOCATION:
Lettery Lodge is located in the heart of Connemara in Co Galway. This rugged landscape transforms from green to gold to mauve, depending on the play of light. The Twelve Bens mountains dominate the region, and an easy drive will take you to some of Ireland’s truly spectacular beaches near Roundstone.

Private guided walks or hikes can explore the region, showing some of the natural wonders of Ireland. The only fjord in Ireland is Killary Harbour, near Lenaun. Drive to Cleggan on Galway’s coast and hop on the mailboat across to Inis Boffin, a lush green island with white sandy beaches and aquamarine waters.

There is plenty of shopping in the surrounding towns like Clifdenn and fresh seafood and local farmers’ markets provide delicious, organic fare.
