Location details:
Villa Erinda enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, cultivated into olive groves and vineyards as far as the eye can see. The property, while private and secluded, is a short distance from the medieval-era town of Panzano, the closest town to the villa. Shops for necessities are available, and restaurants and bars are also ready to serve authentic Italian cuisine as guests explore what delights the Tuscan countryside has to offer. There are also several wineries in the area - wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the villa lies at the heart of a famous wine-producing region of Italy, the Chianti region. Several wineries are to be found throughout the region, near and far; Gaiole, a medieval village that served as an important trading post in eras gone by, is one such area that is affluent in wine producers. Locally produced wines with a vast variety of flavors and tastes are waiting to be sampled that will invigorate the palate.
Monteriggioni, the fortified town famous for its intact and well-preserved medieval battlements and fortified structures, lies to the south. Revel in the medieval atmosphere that this enchanting town offers; a medieval festival is held here in July that recreates times gone by with dazzling display.
For lovers of art and history, the Tuscan countryside is steeped in history - Florence, the seat of the famous Medici family, lies to the north of the villa and is the reputed heart of the Renaissance. The most populated city in Tuscany, Florence has a long history stretching back to Roman times, with architectural and artistic wonders on display in its many basilicas, churches, museums, and castles.
Further afield, the often overlooked but no less beautiful city of Pistoia is to the north-west of Florence and contains many more important historical landmarks, as well as an ample supply of shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs to sample on your exploration into Italian culture.
