New to the market for the coming winter season, Chalet Schipfa is the quintessential Swiss chalet, traditionally built of wood with wooden ceilings and extensive wood panelling inside all the walls. It revels in sunshine and light with its extensive windows throughout and radiates a warm welcoming atmosphere. This property features four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sauna, and three different sunny terraces with great views over both the Zermatt village and the Matterhorn. Let this inviting home be your base as you enjoy all that this quaint region has to offer.
The chalet is very centrally located and is wonderfully perched on a hill overlooking the main church and street. As a result of its elevated position, it is accessed by a relatively steep path. From the main street in Zermatt, it’s a climb of 24 vertical metres with a distance of 290m. There is no lift access, however, the nearest taxi drop-off point is next to the English Church which reduces the climb to 15 vertical metres. We often recommend this chalet for guests who are more sporty and fit, it is not suitable for the elderly, toddlers or those less able-bodied.
The surface area of this chalet is 195 sqm is generously spread across two floors. You enter the main floor which contains the very spacious and comfortable living room, leading to a generous kitchen with two separate sinks and work surfaces and an island. spend quality time with family and friends as you prepare your meals. The dining alcove is at the side of the kitchen, it is both convenient and separate and most of all spacious. There is comfortable seating for 8 at this dining table, perfect for all your guests to enjoy some beautifully prepared and delicious food.
There are two terraces in this chalet, one running along the width of the chalet, a wonderful sun-trap overlooking the village, and another one facing the Matterhorn with a lunch table. Either one you choose to relax on will have you feeling completely at home and at ease. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning as the sky and the people in the town below awaken. This main floor also has one bedroom and one bathroom with W/C and shower.
The remaining three bedrooms are located on the lower floor. These rooms include a comfortable and spacious master bedroom, a twin-bed room and another double bedroom. A staircase leads downstairs to these rooms, all of which lead onto a wonderful terrace boasting incredible views of the peaceful village below. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath-tub, shower and W/C; the other with a shower, W/C and washing machine. The sauna is also located on this floor. Let all your worries and stresses melt away as you relax in bliss and peace.
