Welcome to Chalet Castor a very luxurious fully catered 4 bedroom Zermatt ski chalet sleeping up to 8 guests. Chalet Castor has one of the best locations in the village just 200 meters from the Matterhorn Express lift station and less than a four minute walk to the centre of the beautiful village of Zermatt.
Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. Tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you incredible views of the village of Zermatt and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all three of Zermatt's ski areas. Access to Chalet Castor is easy. Just 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run, there is a street level tunnel built into the rock which leads you to a lift (elevator). Once you exit the elevator, it us just a gentle 3 minute walk to Chalet Castor. This is an ideal location being close to the main lift station, the ski runs and the village centre. The tunnel and elevator bring you up high above the village providing a true sense of high mountain seclusion and tranquility with breathtaking views. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnel's ski-room. Chalet Pollux immediately adjacent to Chalet Castor is its mirror image and also sleeps 8.
Chalet Castor has wonderful mountain views and is bathed in morning sunshine as soon as it emerges. The décor is really tasteful with a combination of a cosy alpine atmosphere together with a modern contemporary finish. There is also a wonderful liberal use of wood and stone adding greatly to the atmosphere.
Castor is one of our Eco-friendly Villas. This luxury Zermatt ski chalet has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, fireplace and geothermal heating which greatly reduces the chalet's carbon foot-print.
Chalet Castor also has its own sauna and unique outdoor hot-tub surrounded by snow - perfect to relax and enjoy the view (or the stars...) with a glass of champagne in hand after a long day in the mountains.
Chalet Castor is one of our 5 star fully catered properties. Included in the winter catered price are a professional chef and experienced chalet host serving up our gourmet half-board dining service, an open bar, daily cleaning and shopping service and unlimited wine. Our gourmet dining service includes breakfast (7 days a week), afternoon tea, canapés and dinner on six nights, accompanied by outstanding complementary carefully selected wines. A more extensive fine wine list is also available on request for an additional fee. Summer prices are on a self-catered basis.
Chalet Castor comes with an electro-transporter which our staff will use to move your luggage and shopping as required.
This luxury catered chalet is adjacent to our two other 5 star freestanding chalets, Chalet Gemini sleeping 10) and chalet PolluxPollux (sleeping 8) so a further 1 8 people in total. These may be rented in conjunction with Chalet Castor enabling a group of up to 26 guests to stay in the same location while benefiting from the space and privacy that only a sole-occupancy luxury chalet can provide.

We had a fantastic time!
Thank you Linda. We had a fantastic time! It was wonderful that the whole family could stay together. And we had beautiful weather! The only downside were those loud cow bells going all night long! They remedied the last night but it was pretty bad.
A great ski vacation
Castor is a stunning chalet with great views. Although there is no view of the Matterhorn it doesn't matter. The chalet is pristine and I would highly recommend it. There are also 3 neighboring chalets which is ideal for a large group. Our concierge was superb.
