Seven Mile Beach has recently been named as one of the Ultimate Beaches in the region by Caribbean Travel & Life and voted one of the best beaches in the world by MSN.  There are many luxury beach resorts, hotels, villas and all inclusive resorts in Grand Cayman.

In this article, I’m highlighting our favourite Resorts in Grand Cayman, all located on Seven Mile Beach, from where you can admire the incredible turquoise ocean views from plush accommodations and where the soft golden sands are literally on your doorstep.  You can choose from elegant beachside resorts or all inclusive resorts in Grand Cayman.

1. The Caribbean Club

The Caribbean Club is my personal favourite resort of all the resorts in the Cayman Islands.  This splendid boutique property offers discerning visitors an intimate atmosphere with all the comforts of a luxurious home away from home, built right there on Seven Mile Beach, where you can literally fall asleep listening to the waves lapping the shore.

The location of The Caribbean Club is idyllic, a short drive from the popular restaurants and bars of West Bay and George town and also the outdoor chic shopping centre at Camana Bay.

2. Kimpton Seafire Resort Spa and Resort

Kimpton Seafire Grand Cayman resorts

We’re often asked “Are there any all-inclusive resorts in Grand Cayman”?  There are indeed.  We highly recommend Kimpton Seafire Spa and Resort.

This state-of-the-art, trendy property on Seven Mile Beach brings sea and sand into view the moment you arrive.  Since the Kimpton is somewhat separated from the rest of the Seven Mile Beach resort strip, its’ stretch of beach feels much quieter and more secluded and private than some of the other resorts.

The design of the property both inside and out is very much open-air, with water views at every turn.

Winding plush gardens lead to hidden sanctuaries, social gathering places, pristine pools and of course the mesmerising Caribbean ocean.  You will experience glorious sunsets that set the ocean alight, hence the name Seafire.  As you enter this idyllic property, you are greeted with a lobby which boasts cobalt hues and glossy surfaces, giving way to a relaxing library with seagrass adorned walls which are lined with Caribbean memorabilia.

Opulent Accommodation

All suites at the resort feature ocean views through floor to ceiling windows and each suite has a private balcony with contemporary lounge-like seating.

Inside, chic décor abounds with calming neutral colour schemes where bursts of tropical colours surround you, along with luxurious linens and extravagant en suite bathrooms.

Rooms are stocked with luxurious amenities including multiple charging ports, minibars, eco-friendly toiletries and thoughtful extras such as umbrellas, yoga mats and beach bags.

For the discerning guest who prefers more privacy, the resort offers free-standing beachfront Beach Bungalows with oceanfront, water or resort garden views.

Each bungalow is just a few steps from the sand, surrounded by tropical swimming pools and gardens.

Your bungalow experience includes delivery of daily breakfast, liming hour with sips & bites and an in-room crafted nightcap.  Or, you can opt for the exclusive experience to also include in-room Vinyl Me Please Music, art events & fitness classes.

Guests may gather in the library each morning for complimentary tea and coffee, while each evening, staff members host free wine tastings.

Splendid Restaurants

The resort has two restaurants, namely “Ave”and “Coccoloba”.  It also offers a third dining experience “Avecita”, which is open seasonally within “Ave”, the main restaurant.  “Ave” (the Spanish word for bird) is a beautiful, light and airy space that overlooks Seven Mile Beach, serving breakfast and dinner, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Breakfast features both buffet and a la carte options, while in the evening, the a la carte dinner menu highlights local fresh ingredients with Mediterranean preparations.

“Avecita” offers a wonderfully unique culinary experience.  Located within “Ave”, “Avecita” offers just one seating per night with 10 seats available at the chef’s counter.  Here, guests can watch as chefs prepare a delectable five-course tasting menu.

An additional 30 seats are available at communal style tables, where guests can order off the a la carte tapas menu.  The menus at “Avecita” change frequently, and the dining experience is only available seasonally. When it is open, an evening at “Avecita” is one of the island’s most yearned for reservations, so advanced planning is essential.

“Coccoloba” is the resorts’ casual beachfront restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, and featuring a Caribbean-come-Mexican inspired menu of tacos and fresh seafood. It’s a popular spot for fresher than fresh ceviche and sunset margaritas attracting locals and visitors with its chic and refined atmosphere.

Additionally, the resort has a coffee shop called “The Pantry” serving excellent java, ready-made sandwiches, pastries, and snacks.

Seafire Spa & Fitness

The Seafire Spa is located on the hotel’s lower level, giving it a feel of an underground escape, with dark, soothing interiors and impeccable style.

Contemporary decor is highlighted by native foliage, water features and gorgeous mosaic tile exhibits (the Turkish Hamman is stunning).  Aquatic touches are everywhere, featuring a grand soaking tub complete with streaming natural light and botanical adornments.

The spa features a varied spa menu, with offerings ranging from massage therapy, body treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures and steam. The spa also has a full-service salon for hair, nail, and waxing treatments.

The Kimpton’s fitness center is located in a bright airy room that faces the beach (although most ocean views are obscured by surrounding foliage). The gym is quite small, but it features modern Cybex cardio and strength-training equipment, and free weights.  Daily fitness classes such as beach yoga are always available.

Are there any all-inclusive resorts in Grand Cayman?  The answer is a definite yes and The Kimpton Seafire is beyond a shadow of a doubt, our favourite.

3. Ritz Carlton

Of all the resorts in Grand Cayman, the experiences offered at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman are designed to engage and inspire guests.

Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman

Think romantic strolls along the soft coral sand of Seven Mile Beach, indulgent body scrubs using diamond powder, seven-course delectable menus showcasing local seafood, watching movies under the stars and glimpses of underwater life from a glass-bottom boat.

You can take a guided kayak tour through a lush mangrove or snorkel among nocturnal sea creatures, enjoy pampered amenities of a luxurious outdoor cabana and feel the soft white sand beneath your feet on Seven Mile Beach.

A stay at the Ritz Carlton is an unforgettable experience and you’ll remember the quirky little touches long after you have returned home.

Guest Rooms & Suites

Each guest room and suite at this lavish resort is beautifully appointed, all featuring a private balcony with a choice of ocean, resort or garden views.

Luxurious amenities such as feather duvets and goose down or non-allergenic pillows are the norm throughout, as are spacious marble bathrooms with separate showers and bathtubs.

Your room has a fully stocked refreshment bar with refrigerator, 24 hour in-room dining and housekeeping twice daily.

Residential suites are designed for discerning guests who value the spacious and elegant accommodations of a private vacation home along with the services of a luxury hotel.  Each residential suite comes with a professionally equipped full kitchen, a spacious balcony and en suite bathrooms.  Butler service is available, together with pre-arrival grocery shopping.

Opulent Dining & Perfect Pina Coladas

Guests are spoiled for dining choices at The Ritz Carlton.  The onsite restaurants embrace the Caribbean, each in its’ own individual way.

Decadent seafood at “Blue by Eric Lipert” is all locally sourced and of course, the name Eric Ripert is synonymous worldwide with culinary excellence.

The restaurant features distinctive six or seven course tasting menus, a-la carte dining, innovative craft cocktails and an impressive wine cellar, offering more than 700 fine wines from around the world.

“Seven” is an ocean-view restaurant serving breakfast and dinner.  Guests enjoy delicious breakfasts in a light filled dining room or on the terrace outside, overlooking Seven Mile Beach.  In the evening, the menu features premium cuts of meat, fresh seafood and bourbon cocktails.  Thursday nights are very popular Prime Rib nights and lazy sunny Sunday Champagne Brunches are extremely popular.

“Andiamo” is a waterfront dining area with a casual ambience offering classic Italian cuisine including homemade pasta, pizzas, grilled seafood and freshly made gelato served from a whimsical cart.  “Andiamo” is adjacent to the Ritz Carlton Golf Club and also the Harbour Club Theater where evening movies are shown under the stars.  Special menu selections change every month, featuring a different region in Italy.  Don’t miss out on the Parmesan Truffle French Fries.

“Taikun” serves up the finest grade of sushi with authentic ingredients, sophisticated presentation and legendary Ritz Carlton service.  One of the hallmarks of the “Taikun” experience is fresh wasabi grated tableside against sharkskin in the authentic Asian way, ensuring the delicate wasabi root touches only organic materials.

The beachside “Bar Jack” is known for its’ amazing Pina Coladas and favourites from the Chef’s grill – the perfect spot for sunset snacks.

Caribbean elegance abounds at “Silver Palm” lounge which features soaring arched windows and a view of waterways and fairways punctuated with lush tropical gardens.  Traditional English Afternoon Tea is served daily with live music on Saturdays.  Handcrafted, island-inspired cocktails and a large selection of wines and champagne are offered by the glass.
