Backstage Chalet Zermatt

Backstage Chalet Zermatt is one of most beautiful 5 bedroom ski rental properties in Zermatt. It is 320sq meters in size and located in a lovely quiet residential area yet just 5 minutes walking distance to the centre of the village and 10 minutes to all the ski lifts including the main Matterhorn Lift, The Sunnegga lift and the Gornergrat Bahn. The Backstage chalet was designed and built by the famous local artist and architect Heinz Julen.

The interiors of the Backstage Chalet are super cool and provide a wonderful combination of contemporary design and extreme comfort. The main living room which is located right at the top of the chalet is open plan with the kitchen and dining area. It features floor to ceiling windows on all four sides providing a wonderful sense of light as well as spectacular 360 degree views to the Matterhorn, surrounding mountains and village. The original building which dates back to the 1940’s has been extended and modernised using local wood and stone throughout. The furniture and fittings are all unique and designed and made by Heinz Julen in his workshop in Zermatt. In addition there are some spectacular original art works located throughout the chalet.

Without a doubt the most spectacular part of this ski chalet is the very unique Jacuzzi pool. It is located on the top floor and has a glass roof which with the press of a button slides open and a hydraulic lift moves the Jacuzzi up above the roof. The view to the Matterhorn, village and surrounding mountains is absolutely stunning. The wellness area also includes a Sauna.

This luxurious ski chalet features 5 beautiful en-suite bedrooms. The two master bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor and there are 3 further bedrooms on the 1st floor. Each of the rooms has a Queen bed with shower room and Flat screened TV. One of the bedrooms has a loft with a single bed suitable for a child. Extra beds can also be organised.

To complete the wonderful experience of staying in The Backstage Chalet, there is a home cinema and games room which is equipped with a workstation and a ski room with heated boot racks.

The backstage chalet provides various catering options including fully catered, bed and breakfast or self-catered. Should you decide to go with the fully catered option, you will be completely pampered and spoilt by the wonderful hostess Anna and her team including Ivo Adam the chef and several accommodation assistants. Ivo is a wonderful cook and will delight you with his gourmet delights 6 days of the week. On the 7th night, you will be invited to the Michelin starred "After Seven" restaurant which is located in the sister Backstage Hotel in the centre of Zermatt. Here you will be treated as a VIP and placed in the centrally located family table.

You are also welcome to enjoy the facilities of the Backstage Hotel throughout your stay which include a spa, very unique cinema, restaurant and bar.
