Getting To St Kitts

St Kitts is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean; sun-kissed sandy beaches, amazing coral reefs perfect for snorkelling and a lush national rainforest to hike through.

St Kitts is unique with its amazing valleys which you can drive through; you can enjoy zip lining over the rainforest or climb up on a now dormant volcano, and then be guided down 1000 feet to its crater floor. St Kitts is steeped in history and its neighbouring sister island Nevis makes for wonderful day trips.

It is very convenient to arrive by private plane or a commercial airline to St Kitts. Most guests travelling to St.Kitts arrive via Robert L Bradshaw International Airport (SKB).

St. Kitts is easily reached from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and rest of Europe. There is a second weekly flight has just been added by British Airways from London-Gatwick Airport making it even more convenient for UK passengers.

Yu Lounge St Kitts was opened in 2014 and is a start of the art facilities located adjacent to the airports main terminal. The lounge offers services to both commercial and private jet passengers. Upon arrival a dedicated concierge will meet and greet you on arrival once you touch down in St Kitts. You will be met off the plane and escorted to the Yu Lounge by Limousine. On departure the service includes a meet and greet on arrival at the airport,, the lounge access enables you to allow the concierge to assist with you baggage, check in, customs and immigration. The lounge also provides snacks and refreshments as well as Wi-Fi, device charging facilities and a meeting room.

Departure Tax

The departure tax is EC$60 (US$22), payable in cash or by credit card at the airport. If you’re leaving from Nevis, it’s EC$54 (US$20.50).

Passports

To enter St Kitts and Nevis, a passport valid for six months beyond the date of departure is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Visas

Visas for St Kitts and Nevis are not required by nationals from Australia, Great Britain, Canada, USA or other European Counties for stays of up to 90 days, except nationals of Bulgaria and Croatia.

Other Nationals not referred to here are advised to contact the embassy or high commission to check visa requirements for St Kitts and Nevis. A visitor visa usually costs US$100 and is usually valid for up to three months

Taxis

Taxis are readily available for guests arriving at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts. The taxis are not metered, they are a fixed rate in EC dollars, and prices are available at the airport.

Before departing in your taxi clarify whether the rate is in EC dollars or US dollars. Rates are typically the same for between one and four passengers. There's a 50% surcharge for taxis between 10pm and 6 am.

Tipping

A 10% service charge is normally included in hotel bills. In restaurants, leave 10%-15%. Tipping taxi drivers is not customary.
