Pirate’s Week Festival in the Cayman Islands
Pirate’s Week in the Cayman Islands is a fantastic family fun filled few days in November with events such as street dances, competitions, games, the best of local food and drink, kids day, glittering parade, underwater treasure hunts, Heritage Days, pirate invasion and fireworks galore! This is a Caribbean Festival you definitely do not want to miss out on...You might even find Captain Jack Sparrow drinking the local Caybrew!
The festival kicks off with a spectacular steel pan competition and the crowning of the Festival Queen at the opening Street Dance. A favourite for all at Pirate's Week is the mock ‘Pirate Invasion’ from the sea! Two old-time sailing vessels, loaded with pirates make a Saturday surprise landing at the George Town harbour with the pirates capturing the Governor.
Thousands of locals and tourists alike line the streets to watch the superb performance and its all good natured fun with a new twist every year. Families just love being part of a real life Pirates of the Caribbean spectacle. It’s a unique festival that you won’t find on any other island in the Caribbean. The festival always goes off with a bang with a breathtaking fireworks display that you will not want to miss.
We hope to welcome you at one of our luxury accommodations in Grand Cayman during Pirates Week. The Pirates and Landlubbers of the Cayman Islands will be delighted to welcome you with a big “Ahoy Matey!” to a week filled with lots of fun!
