THE BEACHES
Puerto Vallarta has a wonderful choice of beautiful beaches, all offering something different, here are our favourites: Los Muertos and Olas Atlas are the two closest beaches to the central square. Los Muertos is the most popular, with banana boat rides, beach volleyball and a fabulous pier reaching out into the Pacific Ocean. Many of our Puerto Vallarta Vacation Rentals are located with walking distance of the beach or a short drive away.
Playa Camarones is at the centre of Puerto Vallarta's hotel district. It is the perfect beach for families as it is a quiet stretch of sand and safe for swimming. It is popular for water sports and thrill-seekers - as paragliding is available here, along with banana boat rides or maybe opt for renting a paddleboard!
Playa Yelapa is one of the most beautiful and authentic beach communities in Mexico. Just thirty minutes by boat from Los Muertos beach. Enjoy a day trip from Puerto Vallarta's centre and include Playa Yelapa a tranquil, secluded bay.

For visitors who prefer a more relaxed approach to their vacation, there is a fabulous choice of food tours, where you will explore the local neighbourhoods and experience the culture and some delicious regional dishes.

CONSERVATION
The area's coastline is one of the most important breeding grounds for a variety of sea turtle species, and Puerto Vallarta created a community-wide program for the protection of sea turtles. From May to December, there are special ceremonies to release turtles, as well as night-time sea turtle tours, a truly magical experience.
The Bay of Banderas is also a breeding ground for the humpback whale, and they love to put on a spectacular display of breaching and generally showing off for the mate from November to April.

Our luxury villa Casa Velas is a charming 5 bedroom beachfront property and is ideally positioned for guests who want to explore the beautiful area of Puerto Vallarta, as the villa is just a two minute walk away from the Romantic Zone and a ten minute walk from Downtown. Ideal for large families or groups of friends, Casa Velas can accommodate up to 12 guests.
