Jolly Harbour Antigua

Jolly Harbour is one of the most convenient locations in Antigua. The lovely Marina Village is situated on Jolly Beach, one of Antigua’s most beautiful beaches with turquoise waters and a mile long powder white sand beach. The resort is home to some of the most discerning travellers and has a wide variety of villas options to choose from.

With plenty of great restaurants, water sports and shopping amenities nearby, Jolly Harbour offers guests direct access to Jolly beach as well as access to a wide range of communal activities such as squash courts, tennis courts, swimming pool and an 18 hole golf course set in a lush tropical parkland.

For added convenience there is a really great fully stocked grocery store called the Epicurean open from 7am to 9pm at Jolly Harbour which also has a Pharmacy and scrumptious bakery. Guests who stay in Jolly Harbour also have the added bonus of having a 24 hour security on site. Jolly Harbour has a real sense of local community in this small village where guests, homeowners and locals alike can find everything they need at their finger tips.

Seascape

One of my favourite villas located in Jolly Harbour is Seascape. It’s a really great beach house with 5 bedrooms and is perfect for a family holiday. It’s located in such a wonderful location along South beach. Guests can walk straight out onto the powdery white sand and into the calm clear Caribbean Sea. It is conveniently situated further down the beach where it is less populated.

From the villa guests can easily walk along the beach to many amenities including Castaways bar where they can have a drink and a local snack for lunch. The Crows Nest casual restaurant is also a really lovely marina and water side spot for lunch or dinner – the burgers here are delicious! On selected evenings there are live Reggae bands here which are really fun with a lively atmosphere.

Al Porto

Another favourite restaurant of mine is Al Porto; this is located on the other side of Jolly Harbour Marina closer to North Beach on the water. Al Porto serves a selection of pasta’s and Pizza’s and this is a 10 minute walk from our Seascape Villa. The menu is strictly Italian with authentic dishes which are simple but so delicious. Live music is common here also and provides a fun night out for all the family.

South Beach

On South beach there are local vendors that make their livelihood from guests frequenting South Beach. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for rent as well as local fabrics and clothes and souvenirs. Local men also supply a variety of water sports and water sport equipment, tours can be arranged from here also.

A personal favourite of mine is jet skiing on south beach – so fun! The men are great characters and will look after you; they are also accustomed to some haggling! The water in the Jolly Harbour inlet is calm and makes jet skiing easy and fun here. Guests can also rent hobbie cats and pedal boards which are really fun for children.

Palmiers Cove

Another favourite villa of mine in Jolly Harbour is Palmiers Cove. This is situated on the other side of the Marina on North Beach, which is a much quieter side of Jolly Harbour, there is much less activity over here. Palmiers Cove is very private with its own private beach, guests have the advantage of a private villa as well as being so close to all the amenities of Jolly Harbour.

Jolly Harbour has so much to offer and really is the hub and place of stay in Antigua.
